About

My name is Mounsif Chetitah, and I am pursuing my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sebastian von Mammen in the Games Engineering research group at the Chair of Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Wuerzburg.

For several years, I have been dedicated to uncovering the hidden relationships between pedagogical concepts and game design principles as part of my research into the design and development of Serious Games. Serious game design is a highly complex process because it involves the expertise of domain specialists, educators, and pedagogy experts, as well as the creativity and technical skills of game designers.

My work aims to bridge these diverse areas of knowledge by identifying the key similarities and relationships between educational theories and game mechanics. By mapping these relationships, I strive to develop a tool that facilitates better communication and collaboration between all stakeholders involved in serious game development. This tool will provide a common language that both educators and game designers can use, improving the overall design process and ultimately enhancing the educational value of serious games.

Through this research, we hope to empower serious game designers with a deeper understanding of how educational principles can be integrated into engaging gameplay, creating more effective and impactful learning experiences.
